quick question
quick question
i was thinking about changing my lift to a pre-runner look, i currently have a 3" spindle with a blocked back. My question is could i just cut down my blocks in the back some or buy new ones without doing any other work on it, also would i need to change my chamber and things like that?
You should not cut blocks down.....unless you are using a milling machine. Both surfaces should be perfectly flat. Better to get a shorter block......or lose the block and add an AAL. (add-a-leaf).
If you have torsion bars just crank those...The pre runner look only exists because guys that build there trucks usually put the long travel on first which raises the front end, and eventually, if the dude ever finishes the truck or can afford it, they do the back which does level it out...A real pre runner sits level....
But if you don't have torsion bars, throw the aal in there and take the blocks out.

they guys right... pre runners sit level.... its all in function... not looks... but with function comes the astetics of it all.... hell if you want the look buy some fiber fenders and flare the bed out a lil and put some lights on it
"Aesthetics" is the word you were reaching for. It's an odd spelling.
One thing about losing the blocks: They have a little arm on them which comprises part of the bumpstop system. If you remove the block, you will have no bumpstops unless you do something to replace it. Non-blocked 4x2's must have a piece in there for that function so you might find one in a JY if you decide to do this.
