Doug Thorley 4.0 Headers

We'll I searched and searched and I dont think anyone has them yet.

http://www.dougthorleyheaders.com/pr.../productID/554

click the pdf and see a 3d image of what they would look like

and a cheaper place to get them... EDIT: this link has them but not the real picture of them...check the 1st link for the actual picture

http://www.autoanything.com/exhausts...0A2613602.aspx

I just got Long Tube headers for my taco from Doug Thorley....18rwhp and 26rwtq for my 4.0. I'm not sure what these are putting out.

Discuss...

One thing everyone should keep in mind is a long tube = y-pipe doesn't fit. That's the reason shorties have become the norm- too keep emmissions stuff in place and make it a one day project in the driveway.

That being said, I would use them. lol. With my tranny swap my y-pipe had to be hacked/modified. If I'm gonna build one to fit, I'd rather make one fit a long tube.

I "was" gonna get a mac 4.0 mustang long tube and see if It would fit. This sounds like the real thing, guaranteed to fit.

'03 was the emmision change. i forget what though. I think it's got something to do with the exhaust gas recirc system or something.

The pic on the autoanything site is of a long tube set. That does not mean those are then set they are selling for the Ranger, it's just a pic. It doesnt really say if they are shorty or long........I dont see why they would make long tube headers for a 4.0 ranger because they cant be a huge market for those.

If you call them they will coat it with whatever you want. Mine are ceramic...heres a picture of the jba's I had in titanium vs the new silver ceramic long tubes from doug thorley

it would be awesome to see something like this for the ranger

I edited my first post to clarify

These are not long tube headers for the 4.0, they are shorty like JBA...however they are much cheaper.

The second link with the cheap price doesnt have an actual picture of them...thats what the 1st link is for.

EDIT: ceramic is more, but looks pretty...again, no picture with this link....doug thorley is in the middle of updating their website

No I put my JBA shorties on through the wheel well of the truck. Its a PITA but its do able. Im glad they have a better market for F150s, Kinda pissed me off that Rangers were sort of lacking. Nice to see another company other then gibson/jba
