so i have been going back and forth between a 3 inch spindle lift and a 3 inch body lift. at first i was going to get a body lift because it is cheaper but then i found the spindle lifts that really arent too much more and give a better look. but after looking around on here i have seen many trucks with body lifts that look very good. i really am confused on what to do here. should i save a little extra money to put towards wheels and tires and get the body lift or should i get a spindle lift and keep my stock wheels and just get bigger tires?

depending on which spindle you get you might not be able to use your stock wheels due to backspacing...id go suspension...costs more...but just not a huge fan of body lifts...if you do body lift get some gap guards....

 

I would say suspension as well. I'm not a huge fan of body lifts either even though I have one but only reason for that is the truck came with it. But I just think the overall looks and performance of a suspension are worth the extra money

 

If you do it right a spindle lift and body lift will look exactly the same, but you are right about the spindle having better performance. If you offroad a lot defn. go with the spindle lift. Body lifts don't give you any more articulation, only room to fit bigger tires.

 

Spindles don't give you better articulation either......

 

I thought they gave you more space to articulate? Maybe I'm just wrong then lol.

 

More room to articulate....maybe. The ability to articulate more.......nope.


All the lift spindle does is move the location of the spindle shaft down 3" on the knuckle.....in turn lifting the truck. Thats it, it doesn't change the amount of suspension travel in either direction. You gain nothing but ground clearance from a lift spindle.

thanks guys. when you say if you do a body lift correct it looks just like a spindle lift, do you mean if you use gap guards and just make it look clean?
