Diesel Ranger
Diesel Ranger
Anyone see any of these? and if so, what were the specs? like which engine, hp/torque, swapped outta wut, etc. i've seen a couple of vids but either they're the 83 ish rangers or the ones from brazil or w/e with the 3.0L stock, im curious about this for my own possible swap...
........Oh God,I remember the diesel from the factory, '83-'84 had a 2.2 diesel, and '85-'87 had a 2.3 turbo........back in '83 we had a 2.2 diesel Ranger for a "parts runner",what "POS"!!!!!!!!!,and the 2.3 was not much better, not many were built(thank God)...........I wouldn't even waste my time throwing rocks at 'em!!
better yet id rather just build one myself... cummins power.
yeah thats in a bronco, its pulling about 400hp they say.

I love the idea of a powerful and efficient diesel engine in a Ranger, 4.0L turbo would rock!
But correct me if I'm wrong, if you ever rolled a diesel it would continue to run until it blew up. I think thats why people who off-roading their diesel's are converting to propane.
That is one sweet as Bronco, one of these days I'd like to own an early 70's Bronco and drop a 5.0L FI motor in it as I don't think I could afford to build a Cummins 4BT, and dam that thing is 700lbs, but 28-30mpg!

go to youtube and put in cummins ranger and there is a sick ranger with the cummins 4bt in it and it dumps out smoke like the 5.9 cummins...
if you have the money go cummins....youll never go wrong...
just cause you cant fit the 7.3 powerstroke in a ranger haha
