i have a 93 explorer.... when i bought it the overdrive didnt work. come to find out the guy i bought the truck from replaced the EEC with one from a standard transmission explorer. okay easy fix.... or so i thought. i bought a used EEC from a parts house and replaced the old one... it idled bad... along with black smoke from the tailpipe. i ran the self code test.... the one where you use a jumper wire. anyways... the only code that came up was (159 MAF sensor is/was out of range - MAF ) is it the computer or the MAF sensor?

 

i already did... twice. still same thing
