i go mudding just about every weekend and my rear suspension is driving me crazy. it is squeeking really bad. is there anything i can use to stop it? ive tried P.B. blaster on the bushings and didnt help. the bushings also appear to be in good condition. any suggestions?

i dont think its the shocks. i had a buddy of mine step on the bumper while i was under the truck. it sounds as it is coming from the bushings/rear shackels or leaf springs. its driving me mad!!!! is it even worth pulling the bushings out and cleaning/lube them if there is mud packed in it?

 

if the bushings are the poly's, then get used to the squeeking......

so there is no temporary fix or a lube of some sort that would stop the squeeking?

 

there is a lube, but you would have to take the bushings out and put it on......not worth it IMO.....

 

my rear squeks too,

mine was the fact i added an AAL

 

you can take your leaf pack apart and rub grease in between EVERY leaf front and back and that will stop the sqeaks....did for me

 

or you can do what i did. get intake exhaust and a sound system to over power it. :P

 

pressure wash the whole underside its mud in the leafs mine does it from time to time and that always fixes it.....

 

ill try to pressure wash them this weekend. if that doesnt work then ill take the leaf springs apart. and if that still doesnt work then ill pull the bushings out.

mine squeaks too but it is from the exhaust pipe rubbing against the overload leaf spring.

 

Dave, you can borrow my pressure washer. I'm glad mine doesn't squeak.

 

Jack up the rear frame to let the axle hang.This will let the leaf packs separate somewhat so when you pressure wash it you can get between the leafs.
If you have an air compressor handy you can then blow most of the water out from the leaf packs and spray some paint between the leafs after they're dry.This will help keep much of the dirt/water from getting in them as well as being a lubricant to cut down the friction from the leaves rubbing together.

 

thats wat i plan to do. ill pull the wheels off and jack the frame. i was even thinking of taking the bed off and painting the frame black.....?

 

mine only hits at full extention. i have it coming out on the passenger side infront of the rear wheel.

also. i tried the pressue wash. it worked for me. thanks.
