Lift parts question...

ok im probably beating a dead horse by asking this but I need some parts to lift my 2000 ford ranger 4x4. I've done a lot of research on this topic but I have yet to find answers to a few of my questions, so here it goes.

I found the link to summitracing.com for the chevy drop shackels.. those only come in a pair correct? do I need to buy to sets of these(total of 4 shackels)?

Now I searched and i can only find topics on the short add-a-leaf for our trucks. I found one thread that said the longer leaf has a softer ride while the shorter leaf has a more rough ride? true? does summitracing sell the long leaf for the ranger? link? part number? which brand is the best or is recommended?

now im getting the super-lift with the 4 in lift in the front. is there any good places online I can pick this kit up? how much do they usually cost? I read somewhere that ill need the superlift drive shaft to go along with this kit? which they sell seperatlly im assuming.

I think that's all ill need for the lift: superlift, aal, and drop shackels. correct me if im wrong. thanks for the help everyone.

here is the link for the aal's.

http://store.summitracing.com/egnsea...115+4294907043

i have heard that a longer aal is a smoother ride but i cant say for sure.

As for the shackles they do come in pairs. All you need is one pair.

^ he's right, the leaf springs are attatched by a cradle torwards the front and a shackle in the rear, so you'll only need 2

You will need to either buy the SL driveshaft or have yours CVed by a 4x4 shop.

Do you plan on installing the lift yourself?

Ill be installing the kit with a buddy from work. He has done a lift on a toyota by himself so he knows more than me so i should be alright! Im just gonna bite the bullet and buy the driveshaft. Might as well right??

Im still curious about those long leafs? Where do i pick up long leafs? I was thinking pro comp because i heard so much good things about them. Which long leaf should i buy, there is a couple of them that pro comp makes and i want the one for my truck, please provide a link :) thanks guys for the help

Whats wrong with a used SL? I bought mine used ALOT cheaper than a new one with SL driveshaft, chevy shackles, aals. All the hardware was replaced with grade 9 also. Not 1 issue so far.

If you know the person, than yeah i guess theres nothing wrong with a used lift. But if you dont know what kind of abuse its had, and you dont know what to look for, than i would say negative ghost rider
