Shackles, brackets, and bolts

I did a little search and came up with this thread.
https://www.ranger-forums.com/forum2...spring+shackle

I read some other threads also and I'm pretty sure I'm going about this the right way, I just wanted to see if anyone can point out somthing I might be missing.

This is a picture of my broken bracket. The shackle does not look good either but I'm not sure If I should replace it.

These are the parts I am going to buy unless someone can suggest somthing better or more complete for what I'm doing.

Should I buy new springs also? I don't want to, and mine look alright. Is there a simple test other than just looking at them? I will post some more pics soon if requested.
I looked around and this ebay price seems to be pretty good but I'm not sure If I will need more hardware than what this comes with.

The auction says
"**Not included in this kit are the 8 - 7/16x3/4 grade 8 bolts and nuts to mount the brackets to the frame. These are available at an additional cost of $16.80. You can get them locally or buy them from us to save time!"

I will appreciate any help offered.

Keith

those shackles will work fine if you don't see anything wrong with the springs i would reuse them.

Grinding pop rivets sucks. It took me the better part of the day to do it. I wish I knew someone with a torch. I only finished one side of the truck and will attempt the other side next weekend. I got lucky with the last one have had two of the rivets ground off already and replaced with bolts. The other side is four pop rivets. I purchased a new grinding wheel so hopefully this will help.

The bolt inside of the the grommet that sits in the leaf spring was almost impossible to get out. I ended up pulling the whole grommet out. Next time I will try to use a gear puller to push just the bolt out.

I will post pics soon of what the new install looks like.

BTW. I think my timing chain broke. My truck is stuck at Meijers on Hill road in flint right now. If anyone around there has a tow or trailer and would'nt mind giving me a hand, lemme know please.
