Flareside bed tweak...
So i have been going over how i can cover my tires decently after the FW axle swap and i have thought of a few things. I have been looking at my flareside lately and i was thinking that i could possibly move the bedsides out to match the width of the cab. it would give me almost 4-5"+ on each side probably and i wouldnt have to add flares(cause i hate flares on SS's). what do you think? i was going to take a bedside off and see what it looks like one of these days.. hers a somple pic of what im talkn about.
moving the bedside out to match the cab lines. and at the bottom i would shave off the step and add in a piece that matched the lines.

i would need to fab up brackets, but that would be simple enough. also i would have to see how close a regular tailgate comes to working after it. ori would just make some extensions on the side of mine(nicely done though)
And for the front i think i will have to go with a really wide fiberglass fender, with a wide coverage 4"+. even though im not a fan of the hieght it adds too

cause if i get pulled over one more time for tires to far out or lifted too high.. im going to jail or high fines..it will be my 5th+ violation, thats a misdo here
and i'm going FW... get it
or i'm going to trade beds with someone.. anyone..?

but ive been good for about 6 months now and ive passed a million cops
front flares? what size
yup front flares three inch bulge I think. the front corners are just a bit chipped but a little time and they will be golden. they are expensive as fawk to ship is the problem. 200 shipped?
what axles do you have? I would probably be pretty easy.

Ive got the same exact thing as Zack. I should probably shoot for a waggy and go a setup like Brenton. But i figured id be different. if i chopped the 44 and 60 id be looking at expesive shaft work and **** wouldnt I? for custom length
no cut it down to a length of another axle size that isnt FW. like eb width, then you could use those shafts and put an explorer 8.8 in the rear. not to mention you could have a HP EB 44
that should be plenty...

thats dum, narrwoing the front will be easy, shop for an 8.8.
your front is HD AND HP. why would you want a regular low pinion. grind off the welds, pul the inner Cs, cut the tubes to spec, put Cs back on, weld. sick axle, no money.

I have an 8.8, why not use the one i have? just build it up a bit.
the front i have isnt HP, teh ghey. i do have an EB 44 in my garage too. I'm planning on running leafs tho

you could use the 8.8 if all you care about is having an axle swap in there. but it seems counter productive to do all that work for a solid front when you could buy a kit that does the same job in a nicee neat little engineered package...
its from a 70's 80's quadravan i guess lol.. LP 44 and 60. got them for nothing.
well i want to get lift to clea 37's no bigger. as low as i can go. and ifi stay close to ranger width i will have no worries and can get flares or somthn. 1-3" sticking out isnt bad here. but with FW a tire out would be perty sketchy.

flex for what? strength for what? I mean dont get me wrong, it would be sick, but you have to keep the wheels inside the wells youre gonna have a tall tippy **** if you swap it I am sure. If I didnt blow CVs within days of getting new ones time and time again, I wouldnt really worry about it...
i get that ****..
but i said i'm going to stick out some, 2-4"on each side is ok. i can cover it. flex for offroad. i do plan on using it and the added tire size and strength. so cut the SL , RCD crap. i use and beat on it
i aint a *****

its all good dude, I aint insulting you, I know you like the be heavy on the skinny and now you have a v8 I was just saying.
with that being said, wheels can be a lifesaver. get as much as you can towards positive offset and you can battle the FW problem.so you gain 4 ish inches on each side, get a wheel that only puts you out 1-2 inches throw flares on and call it good!
