noobish question, but i gotta ask

alright, i've been owning my ranger for almost a year now. and i just noticed something. on the '01-03 rangers (mines an '03 FX-4 Lvl2) that some rangers came with flatter hoods and others, like mine, came with raised hoods. did the 3 and 4 liters get larger hoods to accommodate the larger engine?

I'm pretty sure it's just the trim package. The Edge and the FX4 got the power domes, right?

'01-03 XL(2wd or 4x4) and 2wd XLT got the same hood as 98-00(flater hood)

'01-03 XLT 4x4(FX4 included since it's an XLT) and ALL EDGES(2wd and 4x4) got the famous "Powerdome Hood".

'04 and up all got the same hood, kind of a "shallow" powerdome.

And no, the engine size had nothing to do with which hood got which. Unless you consider that all 4x4's are 3.0 or 4.0, but then again, the 4x4 XL got the plain jane normal hood...
