2009 ranger

are the 09 out yet? might be trading my 07 fx4 off road in for a new 09 fx4. might be a 5 speed manual this time around. autos just are too boring. im looking to get one in a differant color this time and more options. are the 09 rangers the same as 07?. i see a few things that changed but i wasnt sure. i went on ford.com to price one out. hope ford has some good rebates etc.. thinking dark shadow gray this time. leather and a 5 speed. cool trucks. i love mine but i get bored. like the power of the 4.0 too. thanks.

I would be willing to bet that they are going to be identical to the 08's.

Only change is they dropped the 3.0, so you'll be getting a 4.0.
And Sirius is standard on Sport and FX4.

Other than that exactly the same as far as options and model appearance.

Just get the stick if you find one, or order one.

Hey wait a minute. No more 3.0 means you we might be able to get a single cab 4.0 5 speed again.

Ford is gay, so that still isn't possible. The order guide is posted over on Blueoval forums, in the Ranger section.

I wish Ford would get rid of the electronic transfer case too. I like the convenience, but Im sure its something that can easily break. They would sell a ton of Rangers if they would make a 4.0, 5 speed, single cab, with manual transfer case and FX4 trim. lol, that would be a sweet truck!

Just bolt up the manual t-case. You might have the correct extension housing. If not then find one and you can bolt up the manual t-case.

my 88 ranger supercab stx had a 5speed manual with manual trans case. 2.9. man that truck was a workhorse. ill bet its still running somewhere. only thing was the rust started real bad on the body, thus i got rid of it. pure truck that thing was.

so does that mean 3.0L parts will be harder to find / and take longer to get??? I'm still under warranty for another couple of years on powertrain...

LOL

No need to worry about your 07. With 20 years of 3.0L engines out there, we won't be short on parts any time soon.
