93' 4.0 swap with 2001 4.0???

so my 1993 ranger, w/ the 4.0 v6, has got over 200k miles on it and i just blew the head gasket. my boss has a 2001 explorer sport with the 4.0 and his son wrecked it he's gonna sell me the motor out of it so i can do a swap, i would just fix the heads but the motor has a bunch of miles on it. does anyone know if this swap is possible? i believe my 93' is ohv and the 01' is sohc but im not sure. what problems would i have if the motors were different, ohv/ sohc. and do you think i need to use the 01' trans?

i think the 4.0 you have is an OHV? and the new one is a SOHC.. but i dont know what fabrications you require but i think its totally possible its just a matter of doing it.

porbably need to get new mounts for it, unless the block is the same which im almost positive it is. ym, also need to reprogram the computer fot the engine, and i think you would need the rans also to match up. i think the trans you have might work but not positive on that one.
