Tire size question....

I have a ranger 5 speed 4 cylinder that has the stock aluminum rims with P22570R14 tires on them (stock size I think). The back tires are about shot. I have a few 21570R14 laying around my garage. Will they work on my ranger without any issues? What does the difference in size mean? Just trying to save $ and get good tires on the ranger before winter. Thanks in advance guys!

215x70R14 = 25.85x8.46x14

225x70R14 = 26.40x8.85x14

so the "new" tires just little less then 1" shorter and .40ish narrower..

you will be fine

It will work. I put the same sizes on my 96 Ranger 4cyl when I had it.
Just put the 225's that are on the front to the back and put the 215's on the front.

i have a 94 ranger and when i bought it it had 14 inch stock rims with tiny little tires. i got 15x8 rims and 235/75r15's and they fit fine of course i had a pretty big wheel gap. it didnt really change my speed but only by a couple miles an hour but they look great. here is a pic.

I had 215/75/14s on my ranger, and besides making the truck look really small they worked fine. I got great gas mileage (27mpg) with them, but then i stepped up to 4.10 gears and i blew them off all the time not even trying...those were good times.
