A while back somebody posted a part that goes near the battery and connects to one of the terminals so you can wire up more mods without actually having it all on the battery. It really keeps the wires more organized.

Distribution block. Commonly used for car audio, it can be used for other things as well.

Not sure where to look though.

 

Seems like you're describing a distribuiton block. Here are a few battery terminals with a built in distribution block. They can be found all over the internet and at most auto parts stores, and places like circuit city and even walmart has them.. Searched images and here are a few diff types.. (all images from the google search)

 

It was Maurice (Lifted97Ranger) that posted it on his Optima Yellowtop. I'll send him a email and see what brand he used.

 

theres 2 terminals near the fuse box also, its under a plastic cover

I have the first style, its by Tsunami and I got it from Autozone. It does the job.

 

i made a buss bar for my truck. took a piece of copper cut it to the size of a project box from radio shack. secured the the copper in the box, drilled and tapped holes for ring terminals, and then put some holes in the outside of the box for the wires to go through. run one, larger gauge, to the battery and you are set. my buss setup has 8 spots on it, plus one for the battery. i could put another on if i wanted, but not needed as of now. i would post pics if i had some.

 

Oh Maurice says his were Powermaster brand, I can't find them for the life of me though.

 

That's what i use for constant 12v on all my mods....

With an upcoming winch and stereo...i definately like this distribution block idea for sure!

 

Powermaster brand products are avaliable at Schucks/Kragen/Checker stores i do believe.
