Hey everyone! From the Mid-Atlantic...
Hey guys (and gals), I'm new. I've been reading posts on here for a month or so - finally got my account set up and validated (new registrations were turned off for a while). I've learned a lot already just from reading about other people's trucks...
So I'm a high school kid from Northern VA. Not really the place for trucks, but it's the land of the SUV - so pickups are cheap. I bought my first ranger for $1,000. She was a bright blue 1994 Ranger Regular Cab shortbed with a 4 cylinder engine and rear wheel drive. A little over a month ago, on my way to the Homecoming dance, I got blindsided by someone running a red light. The insurance company labeled the truck totaled, but appraised it at 2 grand - so I upgraded. Since the accident, I've purchased another '94 Ranger (my favorite year), but this time an XLT, extended cab, four wheel drive and a V6. Quite a nice little jump from my Mex-Mobile with a pink pinstripe and racing slick tires (I bought it that way).
Anyway, here's pics of the "new" one, about as stock as you can get. These were pictures taken at the dealership (no private sellers in my area). Since then, I've replaced all the hardware (truckbed fasteners and bungee hooks, trailer ball, and interior bits and pieces). I've also used a trick I picked up here and scrubbed about 80% of the rust off of the chrome grill guard using Coke and aluminum foil. Thanks guys!
