$400 to mount up new tires HAHA..

I called up my local tire dealership today and asked if they carried mickey thompson baja radial mtz's which of course they didn't all they carry is one brand of tire which is herculies. I asked the guy how much it would cost me if I bought these tires online and brought them to him to mount. He told me 100 bucks a tire. I was like wtf are you kidding.. sucks too because I wanted to get a set of the baja radials now I think im stuck with bfg all terrains which was my second option. 100 bucks a tire f you. I don't know of any people around me who can't mount my tires either so that isn't an option.. Should I just settle for the all terrains?

Screw that. Just travel a little ways to get the tires you want mounted, don't settle for something you won't be happy with. You'll kick yourself for it!

yeah I said 100 bucks thats rediculous.. its because I didn't buy from them, so they'll charge me up the azz. yeah I really want the mickey thompson baja claws.. i'll have to do some looking around to see if there are any tire shops that will do it for cheaper.

walmart charges like 3.50 to take tires off and 3.50 to put them on or something cheap like that.

discount tire charges $5 a tire to mount or unmount, then 10 to balance...

Wow... that shop is stupid. I had a local off-road shop tell me they charge $90 a tire for Staun Beadlocks, but that at least requires some extra effort (not $90 dollars worth of effort IMO, but more then normal). $100 per tire for just normal tires is crazy stupid.

Where I work we charge 1.5 hrs. to dismount, mount and balance at $58 hr. So $87.00 total. That price is crazy! Go somewhere else.

i would say so, they have to drill holes in the wheels and I think some other small stuff labor isn't cheap

how do you like those Stauns? I'm thinking about getting some.

I pay 40 for all four wheels to be mounted and balanced here. I think the price is "fake", I think he's basically saying we really don't want to mount them for you, but we will if we have to and your willing to bend over really far.

It's not that much harder. You drill 1 hole, and then make sure to mount an internal bladder correct when mounting the final bead.

I'd love to tell how much I love them... but unfortunately, I'm still trying to get the axles built for the tires that will be holding them. I move damn slow compared to you and Beard.

I work at VIP Auto Parts and Service

and we charge 60 bucks for a "snow changeover"

but it also has to be a option tire size due to state inspection issues, or within the 2inch rule

Yeah thats pretty much the same process that whoever changes my tires over is doing.. mounting them up to my new rims, balencing + alignment but as I said $100 a tire is bs..

Just go buy your tires at that place that quoted you a bloated price......the salesman MUST have priced you wrong. $100 and under is complete mount and balance. Go get your tires, drive 'em somewhere to to mount.

I asked him if he carried the mickey thompsons he said he only carries 1 brand of tire. wtf? how can you only carry 1 brand of tire if you're a tire shop... No body carries the tires I want at the places around here which are the mickey thompson baja radial MTZ's.. VIP etc.. I'm just going to order the tires online, bring the rims and tires down to wherever when Iget them and see how much its going to cost to get them mounted. hell there only going to be 31's.

Also I'm not sure if I have a discount tire near me, I think I do.. I'll have to check.

Most tire shops don't like to mount tires that you didn't buy from them for liability issues and will quote you are outrages price because of it. I would just buy the tires you want and find a small mom and pop shop and have them do it for you.
