Stupid me!

I noticed my power steering fluid was a little low so I filled it up. It seems like my cap is loose and some of the fluid escapes out from around the cap. This is why i see red fluid on my oil pan ocassionally. But now onto my stupidity.

I figured while I was under the hood I'd check all my fluids, clean the MAF, clean my IAC, check some wires and just clean up under there a little. Well I removed my K&N filter, the maf and the intake tube. Did my stuff and put it back together. I then started it up to run to the store and hear this horrible howling sound, it was extremely loud. I pop the hood and it seemed like it was coming from my maf. I went for a drive and it would go away when I gave it lots of gas, that was fun with snow on the ground and not in 4x4. Got back and the sound dissapated a little so I take it all apart again and when I go to remove the filter and it just falls right off. Stupid me I forgot to tighten the filter up. Put it back together the correct way and it was fine. I got all worked up for nothing.

Well that's my stupidness for the week.

yeh it happens. No worries. Its better than the people driving around with their fuel door open. I hate it when people do that.

thats ok, when i did my oil change the other week i let it sit when i was done, and when i went back out to the garage 20 min later there was almost 5 qts of oil on the garage floor. i didnt realize the oil filter seal from the old one didnt come off when i took it off, so i took it off and filled it back up with oil, so i went through 10 qts of oil

i didnt mention that in my thread about my oil change, so dont tell no one!!

Probably your IAC...

those 4.0L OHV's have this loud howling/sounds like a low tone goose(lol) issue at times...and usually the culprit is the IAC

headsup...power steering fluid in our trucks is ATF(automatic transmission fluid...)
