Icon14 WORST 4.0 mileage

Always see these threads "I get crappy mileage out of my 4.0", and it gave me an idea.

2 tanks of fuel ago, during a nasty snowstorm, I decided it would be appropriate to go climb the steepest hill I can climb around here. So I fill up on relatively cheap fuel and hit the slopes. Getting to the end of that trail, and during the ensuing playing that night and the next day; I used 3/4 of a tank of fuel in only 174km.

Roughly 8.5mpg over almost 50liters of fuel. Take that al!

I bet you I can do better than that. I'll go outside and start my truck and let it idle until it dies. 0.0 MPG! Beat that!

I average about 12.9/tank with just 33's. Glad I'm not the only one getting terrible mileage haha.

Got 13mpg a few weeks ago. It was after a huge snowstorm, and i was in stopped traffic for a while because cars were getting stuck in intersecions and stuff. But because I was in 4x4 and the tires were spinning a lot i dont know how accurate it was.

This thread seems to be going the way of what you normally get. Most of us get between 12 and 16 city and 16 - 18 highway with winter fuel. Thats a given.

The topic is, whats the worst you have done to a tank of fuel. ie using the truck not as a commuting vehicle.

I guess i will elaborate on my 7mpg. 6 plus inches of snow pulling random people out and just plane old driving around.

Got 314 miles off one tank, all city driving, but babied it the WHOLE week. Never above 2800 or so rpm's. Usual is 300mpg @ 16 gallons, which is a 18.75mpg avg.

Ive personally driven for 60 miles with that light on. Tank was bone dry when I got to the gas station.

In snow, hammer down going around 70 for 60 miles, then some f-ing off in the snow I got it down to 14mpg, I'm sure it was worse, I was doing a lot of spinning making the speedo count more.
