I LOVE mine!!!

A bracket is mounted on the spring plate using the existing U bolt for securement, another bracket is bolted to the front spring hanger via new drilled holes. A bar goes between both brackets, thus creating less wheel hop and axle/spring 'twist'.

Mine have been on and off and on and off because of lifts, or axle swaps, etc....and i notice a huge difference every time i put them back on. When they are off, I can't even tell if i'm spinning the tires around a corner..they spin so easy. After the install.....sure there's some hop still...but not much. The only hop that's there is because i'm a manual and the torque i'm putting to the rear.

But Them Buy Them Buy Them! Damn good bang for the few bucks, and literally only take 20-30 minutes to install (Buy a good drill bit if you dont have one already.. I -think- its a 1/2" hole needed.)

Alignment of the bar, I believe.

You'll hear nothing but "yes" about the JD bars, so just get them.

Sorry to make a zombie thread, but has anyone ever cracked a spring hanger near the drilled holes?

You still can, just cut the axle bracket & weld it on top of the spring pad.

That's what I did, and they work great!

I had no clue about this and glad I found this. I'm not doing any pre-runner style running but day to day driving here in Florida, you can imagine the speed bumps, bumper to bumper traffic and pot holes. It's immensely annoying to have your rear end feel like it's skipping itself like a rock on water from just a bump. Will that traction bar that states 1998 & up work for the last 2011 Ranger model? Was comparing my frame to the pictures I see here and see no difference. It sounds like all of you found immense pleasure with the difference. I'll be ordering mine here soon.

It should work fine. I installed a set on my 2005 and have even been able to retain them with my SAS after some tweaking of course. Its money well spent.
