what is this?

I was told its Original Factory Part, 1997 - 2002 Ford Explorer Overhead Console with Dome Light and Climate Control.

is this true?

has anyone tried putting this in instead of the usual OHC?

i know the climate control wont work put i was planing on taking that piece out and puting some switches

I think he's just asking if the overhead consoles came with climate control.

I have never seen an Explorer overhead console with climate control. Mine had the outside temp, compass, dome light, and a compartment for glasses.

Well that definitely does have HVAC controls. I have never seen one like that in a Ranger-based Explorer though. Not sure if that would fit or work in a Ranger.

Edit...since you mentioned that it was for '97-'02 models, I'm guessing that is for an Expedition and not an Explorer. The climate controls are for the Expedition's rear HVAC.

thats def and expedition one because it has the rounded front like the 97plus f150s






heres the link to the expedition on ebay that one is a 2001

thats the question im hoping someone could answer for me before i go buy it, if it doesnt im just gonna buy the regular OHC everyone uses.

thats my plan, its different than every body else.

im hoping someone has attempted this or has thought about it and can tell me how it fits, weather they tried to installed it or had it mocked up to see the fit.

i dont wanna spend $80 and it not look remotely close

I've never seen anyone attempt it. Not saying it hasn't been done but I don't think it has on this site. Try RPS

It may be too wide to fit on the raised area in the middle of the headliner on a Ranger. Ask the seller for measurements.
