Head light/Tail light Tint

Hello all, I was thinking about getting a dark smoke tint for my 2003 ranger's head lights, tail lights, and fog lights. Just wanted to hear other thoughts on the subject.

Well definately wouldn't tint the headlights just due to the fact it could hinder how bright they are. As for the tales usually there are laws about how much red/reflective has to be showing. Search for the headlight mod that a lot of us have on our trucks. If you like that dark look that's a good alternative.

Can you buy Tint just for the front corner lights?

Search "headlight mod". Those corners DisturbedESV posted are modded 06 corners...done just like the headlight mod.....basically it's painted chrome and painted 'ring' around the lense. OR...you can 'nite-shade' your current lenses...but if you've got all amber lenses, if niteshaded, they light up almost red.

For the OP: VHT Nite-Shades is a very popular mod done to taillights...it's a translucent black lense paint. A few very light coats should give you the desired darkness you want. Also...Search "nightshade" or "niteshaded". Tons of tail tinting threads around here. DO NOT tint the headlight housing...rather you should mod them like the pic above is done. If you dont have a 01+ truck, you're SOL imo...you should never tint a headlight. Sure...it might look cool...but i prefer to BE SEEN at night and to BE ABLE TO SEE at night.

You want to use VHT Niteshades or Duplicolor Metalcast Black Chrome to tint your lights.

These are my tails and corners using the Duplicolor paint. I only did mine lightly because I didn't want them completely blacked out.

Alright cool, I never realized tint came in a can lol. I'll go to my local auto shop and look around for the VHT Niteshades, thanks a bunch. Also I'll post some pics after I finish the process.

You can also use transparent model paint in cans, but it's obviously much easier to spray.

Just make sure to clean the lenses, and then spray in LIGHT even coats, because this paint runs easily.

When it is done and dried, wetsand it with 2000 grit, or spray some clearcoat on it.

Previous vehicles I have tinted lights on.

Tails were Niteshaded, the trunk part was just painted black.

This one had clear lenses. I did not tint the lenses, but I actually just painted the housings with regular black paint.
