Spark Plug Gap
Spark Plug Gap
What is the proper spark plug gap for a 2002 4.0 sohc. In the haynes manual it says to gap them .061 to .068. In the owners manual it says .052 to .056. I just want to make sure that i get them gaped right. And please dont tell me to search, Wild blue internet sucks, took me 10 min just to load this page. LOL thanks
there is a white sticker under the hood of your truck that should have the gap recommendations... if you are replacing the plugs with double platinums, you shouldnt need to gap them and sometimes if you do gap a platinum, you will damage the plug.
you can check the gap on the plugs, just dont try to adjust it... if its way off, it was probably dropped anyway which means the plug is more than likely cracked...
