Im pretty sure that it's illegal to run without doors... Jeeps can get away with it because the door doesnt go down to the floor there is like 6 inches of metal blocking stuff from falling out of the tub...

Don't take my word for it tho....

the way jeeps get around it is because when you pull the doors off they have a raise in the body to "hold" feet in. so with a ranger it is going to be impossible to get away with no doors in a state like pa

the doors on a ranger also provide structural strength in a roll.. its unsafe, sure i take my doors off but I'm fully aware of the dangers.

they can probably get you for something since your in PA.

Can some explain this? This from the PA DOT...

(f) Doors. A vehicle specified under this subchapter shall be equipped with doors of a type used as original equipment. The doors shall open and close securely unless the vehicle has been manufactured or modified to the extent that there is no roof or side. Tailgates, except on vehicles where the tailgate gives access to the passenger compartment, may be replaced with wood planking, nets or other material that will prevent loss of load. Tailgates may be removed when optional equipment, for example a truck camper, is added.

Authority
The provisions of this § 175.77 amended under the Vehicle Code, 75 Pa.C.S. §§ 4103, 4301, 4501, 4521 and 6103.

Don't do it, it's pretty much pointless on the street. I did it quite a few years back and regret doing it since the doors would never line up correctly 100%. You'll be a sitting duck if someone accidentally side swipes you.

I'm gonna build me some half doors...so i can stick my head out and watch my torsion bar brackets drag against rocks. I'll be legal, and it'll be fun on the street in the summertime. Just hope not to get jacked!

if you want to take them off just do it. Rock it and have a good time and deal with the fun police if they have an issue. what would they ticket you for? just some small fine and having to get you truck reinspected or something like that i would guess.
