Lets See Your Front Hitch

I got a Front Hitch for Christmas and I was finally able to put it on.

I feel like it sits too low for my liking (when the valance is on, it will sit at the bottom of it).

Lets see what you've got and how you mounted it up. I'm thinking of buying one off of Craigslist and cutting it and welding it behind the front crossmember.

Wow that thing needs to be up where the tow hooks are. Thats just going to kill an approach angle you have.

that is the UGLYEST ever front hitch that i've EVER EVER EVER seen. oh my. give it back! lol. *side note. wtf is up with your bumper bracket? those two bottom bolts on that one side wouldn't budge?

Here's mine....Hidden Brand (supposedly this style is discontinued). I changed the mounting to compensate for the bodylift.

Yea, tell me about it. But it was a X-mas gift from my dad. I didn't think it was gonna be so low when I got it.

No, The speed nut broke. And really didn't feel like taking the other bracket off (yea call me lazy).

Guess its to Craigslist for me.

It bolts to the frame in 8 places - of course there would have to be a couple bolts missing in this pic.

It should be pretty simple to mod yours to work better.
Cut the ends off the sq. tube cross piece, flip it upside down and weld it back to the brackets where the cross piece will be just under the frame, then trim off the rest of the brackets. It should look something like jrpo130's when your done.

But I think fx4wannabe01 has the best example of a hitch using the stock bumper. that thing looks hella stout.

I don't have any pics on hand, but mine is setup just like Shane's. Hidden hitch mounted on top of the frame rails.

LOL, while I was typing, ericranger posted a pic that looks like exactly what I was trying to explain.

You could make yours look like that one pretty easily.
