how exactly does this work i had never heard about doin this until i got on here. everybody around here just usues the battery.
if you use the fuse does it need a ground cause i dont want no **** catchin on fire

The fuse goes in between the battery and the switch, as close the battery as you can get. It prevents fire, as soon as the circuit is grounded out the fuse blows, preventing the wire from heating up and catching fire. Its very important to fuse any hot wire
Run the power wire from the lights to the fuse box positive post or to the positive battery post. Ground the lights on the bumper or frame. Then run your switch wire inside the cab. You can also fuse the switch wire if you feel it is necessary.
