Im in the process of wiring in my alarm I got today, I cant figgure out how the power locks work on rangers. What do I tie the alarm wires into to get the truck to unlock/lock with the new fob's? where are the wires located as well?

Also where and what colour is the door trigger imput, its the wire that goes from the door that turns on the dome light. (page 35 on the install instructions, follow link)

its been an hour. i should recieve mine tomorrow and will be puttin it on

 

I think I wreaked my siren....

I put the wires directly to the battery to test it and it worked, then after i mounted it I tried it again and the wires got super hot and shorted out on my fingers but the siren never came on...

 

maybe you have something hooked up wrong. does the siren hook directly to the battery?

 

well its a - and + wire comming off the siren so i just held it against the battery. Im sure your supposed to wire the + back to the alarm controll unit

 

So is it just connect the unlock wire from the alarm to the unlock wire of the truck (pink/L green) and the ajar wire (black/yellow) To wake up the GEM and make it unlock? since there is no factory alarm present?

Then follow the same for Lock, Alarm lock conect to Pink/yellow?

Yeah I had to drive my truck to work today with the kicker pannel off and the mettal under it off with a bunch of wires dangling, half an alarm harness wired in and the hood opener hanging low! it was kinda greasy.

 

fedex just delivered it. where did you mount your speaker too?

 

I want to get it in front of the Rad but behind the Grill there, where I originally mounted it, somehow it grounded out and was shorting out so I still need to mount it.

Let me know how you wired everything in ( like the power locks, and the door triggers)

 

I got it to work except keyless entry. I'll do that next weekend.

P.s. anyone else setting one up and have LED cab lights they dont draw enough power to set off the voltage sensor.
