Is the Fabtech 3.5 in spindle lift with performance shocks good for off roading? not like extreme desert prerunner but wheelin on some trails?

Spindles don't change any suspension geometry. It will just move the snout 3 inches down which lifts the truck 3 inches. It will be just like stock except 3 inches higher. Shocks with help a bit.

 

i know i am getting the spindle lift with fabtechs performance shocks.

 

i have no experience with them, as i am still stock, but there have been people that have had trouble with the fabtech spindles

 

treat it like a stock cast spindle...no whoops at 50mph....

 

It allows you to run larger tires. That is the only performance offroad you will gain.

 

Exactly. I wouldn't jump the truck and trust them not to break when you land.

 

You'll be able to run a larger tire and you'll gain some ground clearance in the front. The suspension geometry did change for me, I had some bad camber issues after installing but it was fixed with an alignment. People will either say Doestsch sucks and Fabtechs are tough or the other way around. I think a lot of the failures are due to jumps or people not knowing how to properly pack/seat/tighten a wheel bearing and that neither brand is inherently bad.

 

i wasnt planning on jumping it or even hitting whoops above 20 mph even thats a little fast.
i was just planning on hitting up some trails and a little ocotillo wells. But i know not to do anything hard on the truck

im running the 3.5 fabtech spindles on mine, and been out on some trails even down around ocotillo as well, i didnt do anything crazy with it. just know the limits on what you can and cant do. but like everyones said nothing crazy and you should be fine.

 

Its like most "lift kits" as they wont increase your travel or suspension performance. they simply allow you to run larger tires and give you more ground clearance... which is good for offroading.

 

i had the fabtech ones on my ranger for about 40k miles with no problems
