I figured I'd get more hits in general discussion,


I marked the driveshaft to keep it aligned, now im trying to take off the "caps" and they 4 bolts are stuck as all hell. Solutions? I may have stripped one out with a torx. I also figured out that putting truck in 4wd locks the driveshaft up nicely, but they're still too hard to turn. I PB'd them and am going to try to use a lil bit of heat. I could use some advice..

I guess I should've posted this in suspension after all!

 

Youre going to need to give it more than an hour and a half. Not many people here have installed the SL on their own.

My advice is to give it some heat, because they are probably lock tited in.

 

heat was the solution that worked, and using uhh, "impact torx bits" because they fit the best. I guess saturday would be a really slow day on the forums.

 

use more heat.

 

lots of stuff is turning into "hit with big ****ing hammer" or "use heat". It's good though, i've been working slowly and am just to putting the differential in. I'm happy to be past the taking **** apart phase and more towards putting **** in.


If every bolt wasnt a huge fight and i had the knowledge i do know, i seriously think a superlift install would be very easy. At the very least i have great tips ill write up later for certain parts of the install.
