well just got the motel reserved at the OBX...Nags Head

as stated in my previous post about driving in sand, ill be going to the OBX (where i used to LIVE) for vacation with the girlfriend. Just got the motel reserved for August 9-12...yes i know its only three days but cash is short and i just wanted to go (motel is still costing 508 dollars!) This is our third year staying at the Beacon Motot Lodge. We stay ocean front and it is yet to be the cheapest motel room. (well i could prolly stay cheaper in non ocean front motel, but um no....its $145 a night...thats cheaper then any room at a confort inn or anything) gosh doesnt anyone have a beach house i can stay in...LOL j/k

the beacon motor lodge is a nice motel that is clean and has all the ammenitites we will need...a bed, a bed, oh yeah a bed...j/k... no really its cleacn and nice and the staff are freindly! plus they let me stay there when i was 20 (you have to be 21 to get a motel room)

plus as soon as i open the door, theres the ocean!

since we have been two previous time and i have seen all there is to see, we'll just be lounging around the beach. im taking the fishing rods to hopefully go fishing out at oregon inlet...YAY beach driving!

i may see one of yall down there...i think mossyoak03 said he might meet me down there and a few more...lol....

might see yall

You don't have to be 21 to get a hotel room...

Thats right down the road from the Holiday Inn I stayed at the second to last time I was down there.

My girlfriend said something about it today, I'm not paying 300 bucks for a hotel room though.

August eh?
I would love to go down there, but as usual I can't comment to it, bah.
I would most likely be sleeping in the truck though unless my wife came.

Theres a campground 20 minutes from there, 20 bucks a night. Nice campground, I stayed there last time I was down there.

Not on the beach itself, you have to be a designated campground.

Trent, how much is the holiday inn? every toher place wante like 200 and up for ocean front, and im getting it for 145 a night right on the beach! their cheapest is 130 a night this time of season.....

does anyone know of a motel with cheaper rates that is NICE (remember guys im taking the girlfriend)

i want to go camping, but this is not a camping trip (its a vacation trip with the gf), im def going to one next year with yall guys! i want to go to the one in july, but i gotta save for this one!

you sure you called hotels and not beach houses? you have to be 25 to have a beach house at most of them places. you can be 18 and get a hotel and you keep saying when you were 20 which means you had to past that so no worries. and me and the ex use to stay in the one of the days inns and it has never cost us more then 50 a night so i don't know how you are gettin 145 a night. your better off camping, plus its more fun that way

trust me id love to go camping! but like i said, its me and her and she doesnt wanna go camping, she just wants a nice leisurly vacation....

another reason for the rates is the time of season, were going during prime season....

if you look on expedia and travelocity and put in those dates w/ two adults, tiy wont find one for 50 dollars! i wish, so far, cheapest i found is 115 at the sea ranch hotel...

im not worried about it though, i love where i stay, clean motel and its 50 yerds off of ocean, *** soon as i open door, theres a patio and then sand down to the ocean!

im missing the obx camping meet this year with ya'll guys, but you better believe that next year, IM GOING (that is if ya'll do it again). i want to go camping so bad i cant stand it!maybe we can get a camping trip this fall or something at a river or lake (the new river is awesome) or something like that! someone bring a boat of they got it and go fishing

I've gotten 5+ hotel rooms with no problems down there and I'm only 19. I think they just said that to not deal with you or something, idk. When I stayed last time it was during off season so it didn't cost as much, the prices skyrockey during prime season. You probably won't find anything nicer for that price.

Yeah I wish the rooms were cheaper. I like camping but sometimes it gets hot as crap out there.

The only places I've had trouble getting a room is at like the hilton/mariott where they have alcohol in the rooms.

Yup, I hate paying for hotels, talk about throwing money away. I bought buy some cool stuff for $500! haha.
But sometimes you have to do it so whatever. I know I spent a ton of money in Hawaii last time.

F travel trailers. Too heavy/expensive/limited where you can take them.
I want to get a four wheel camper. Okay actually I want to build something like a four wheel camper but don't have the space/resources.
