Icon5 superlift rides like crap

Idk if its just me nit picking at my truck. But now that the superlift is on everytime i hit a bump i hear a knock from the front end and can feel it under my feet. I took it to the shop and the guys that installed it said it rides fine, all he said is that i will have to get aligned again b/c it pulls to the left a lil. Idk if its just the kit breaking in or if somehting is lose. He told me to bring the truck back in 500 miles to retourqe the suspension.

I don have the superlift on my truck, but my torsion bars are almost maxed out, and mine does it. I think it is just from having the torsion bars turned to level the truck.

When you crank the torsion bars, it eliminates almost all of your down travel. What the knock is, is that you wheels are not reaching the factory amount of travel. The travel is topping out. When I go over speed bumps any more than a crawl, you can actually see my front tires come off the ground because of this. .
And he fact that the kit is brand new, every thing is still working in. I'd give it 300-400 or so miles after re-torquing before you start to worry about it.

you still shouldn't have a knocking sound regardless of it being normal or not the suspension shouldn't do that. If it's not breaking anything and you don't mind the crappy mind let it settle in buyt otherwise I think it needs some adjustment. IDL much about the newer a arm ranger lifts but you shouldn't top out suspension on a speed bump...

my friends s-10 had a similar problem. It was a totally busted up body mount though. haha. make sure those are still good up by where you feel it under your feet, doubt its the problem unless you got a body lift and mash around like my buddy did. Take one of the guys with you and show him what you're talking about.

What does IDL mean? "I Dun Learn"? If you know anything about the Torsion bar setup, you will know what I'm fixin on learnin you about...read up about the torsion bars, and what it does, then start to give advice.

Superlifts are known for this problem. Check the sway bar links, they're probably bad and you'll need to make your own new ones.

Check this link for more info.

I think you can unbolt the sway bar and drive around and see if it still makes the noise. If not then there you go

If its the sway bar end links then it won't go away unless you replace them.

Easy...unbolt sway bar end links, and see if you've got that noise anymore. VERY common problem with the superlift. One of the reasons I've never installed the sway bar since the lift was put on.

The sway bar end links have some little metal washers that rattle around somethin' fierce. I'll be that's what you're hearing. It sounds awful, but it's no big deal really.

As for the front shaft "taking a hit," I'm not quite sure what you're talking about. The two ends of the front driveshaft never move, so unless it's hit directly by something (aka rock or other obstacle) it doesn't move. The reason the front driveshaft should be replaced is that it's running at an angle greater than it was designed for after the superlift is installed and the front differential is moved. Still with that being said, mine never gave me any trouble in the months that I had the Superlift kit on my truck.

Well, my truck drove almost EXACTLY the same as it did stock after putting my Superlift kit on. The clunk noise is an easy fix:

I feel comfortable in saying my truck rides BETTER with the superlift than it did stock...
