Dynomax 17711 stock install experience?

I just ordered a Dynomax turbo 17711 muffler to fit onto my stock pipes....the pipes are 2"OD and the muffler has 2"ID w/ one end off set like the stock muffler.
The stock mufflers 'body' is 20" long, and the Dynomax is only 18.5" 'overall'....I am guessing I will need some kind of an extension after cutting the pipes off flush to the old body.
Has anyone done this w/ clamps? I like to do all my own work, so I do not want to go to a shop to get it done/welded!

This seems like the cheapest replacement for stock pipes by FAR....less than $30 from Summit (ebay) shipping included.

I have clamps on my Magnaflow, I used 2 of them on each end. One oppisite the other, cranked down on them until it just started to deform the pipe.

It doesn't leak either, and you can find extensions by the clamps a the parts store.

I guess a 2"ID - 2"OD adapter or two (one on each end) will work....this has got to be the cheapest muffler replacement for the Ranger that there is, strange know one else has done it? I all ready have a hand made muffler strap, as the factory bracket was the first thing to rust off.
Should be an improvement in performance, mileage and tone!

Now to decide on keeping the donut between the cat & muffler, or try to put a straight pipe (adapter?) on....that would probably need to be welded though. My springs, bolts, nuts & brackets are mostly rusted off....I have it tied/twisted together with coat hanger wire. That works pretty good, just give it a twist every year, around inspection time.
