Ive got a 1994 3.0 V6 with 5speed and Im thinking of swapping out engine to a 4.0 with a automatic?? any idea on how big of a pain this is or if its even worthwhile?? My engines tired and Im trying to plan ahead for when it does die.

 

I would get the donor truck so you can grab the ecu, wiring and other parts you will need.

 

If you have a complete donor truck, I dont think it would be a big deal at all. Everything should just unbolt right out of the donor and bolt back up in yours. Keep an eye out on Craigslist and Ebay. Also might want to check some local junkyards.
