Nothing to break on LED's so they are the ultimate in rugged lights. Problem is you need a LOT of them do what conventional halogen and HID lighting can do. That gets really expensive. Considering they couldn't even break them by shooting them, I'd say they passed the test.

I emailed them today:

I am wondering what kind of LED's you use in your "E" series light bars. I have never seen LEDs that powerful. Do the reflectors do most of the work or is it a special type of LED.

Also, I am from Western Mass. Do you have any suppliers near my area? I'd like to see one in person before I buy a set for my truck.

Thank you

And this is what they replied (quick reply btw):

We are using 1 watt leds in our lights. The brightness, efficiency and distance are all due to our superior optics. We are unmatched in this industry. The only company that we have in that area is Adamsom Industries Corp. they are located in Havermill MA. I am not sure they have one on display but I am sure if you contact them they will get one out there for you to look at. Ask for Steve at 978-681-0370.

The ones in galls are flashing emergency lights for emergency vehicles. These are high intensity off-road lights. Whelen has started making LED scene lights which I should soon have personal experience seeing. I'm looking forward to it very much! But damn they are expensive.

Whelen will custom engineer anything your little heart desires. If you want to pay for it.
