How do you take off the Armrest??

I 'm going to a Junkyard tomorrow and they have an armrest with the cupholder in it that I want but I don't know how to get the thing off, Its coming out of a 2002 Ford Ranger. Could someone explain to me how to take it out. Thanks

60/40 seats I assume?

You'll need to unwrap the upholstery on the backside of the center seat section of the driverside seat. Once that's done, there's two or three bolts on the underside of the seat, then it's loose and in your hand. Unwraping the upholstery in that area allows you to actually remove the armrest w/ bracket. Otherwise, when you unbolt it, it will still be trapped under the foam and upholstery.

Some lids just unscrew from the 'cubby box'...simple lid swap. But I think my '01 wasn't like that.

Sounds a little complicating. So I'm going to need the brackets to not just the armrest

You dont necesarily need the entire assy, but it doesn't hurt to grab it...I think the insides(the actual cubby) is different between the cup holder and non-cup holder consoles....so you'll need the entire assy anyway.
