Best All Terrain Tire for 15" Stock RIm

Hello again guys,

Figured i would ask the question this way.

I am Looking at putting 30x9.50/15R All terrains on my truck it has the standard 3.73 in the rear and i am wondering is that going to work?

This is going on a 2008 XL Ranger 2WD 2.3Duratech 5 Speed.

they'll fit ok. i got some firestones on my truck and really like em so far. but BFG is always the go-to for an a/t tire. You should think about getting a rearend with a different ratio. 4.10 should be good for 30's. you can live with the 3.73 gearing especially if you've got an automatic but it will be a dog.

Yep, I recommend the BFGoodrich All-Terrain. Alot of people are running them on here including me. There a great tire that have a very good life span.

Nope this truck is a manual. I use it for hunting and towing my 17' Fiberglass boat.

I got that size of BFG on my truck, with 3.55 gears. No problem for me, but I'm 4.0L.

if your truck is going to see dirt roads and street dont buy the bfgs by the general grabber at2s there the same tread pattern pretty much with a less ply side wall

What the heck does seeing dirt roads and street have anything to do with not buying BFGs?

Go with either the general grabbers or the BFGs... I think I'm gonna pick up the Grabbers this week myself for my 15" alcoas. They're about $50 less a tire (in a 31X10.50). The Grabbers have justabout the exact same tread pattern and have really good reviews. I asked this same question.

bfgs are 10x better then the grabber at2.. the grabbers are really hard and not as good on wet pavement as the bfg... get the bfg. always a solid choice!

im saying as in need a tough tire so you wont put a stick thought the side wall or cut it something like that.

If im not mistaken i think the 30x9.5 / 15 actually i think might have gave the truck a small lift.

Am i going to experience a loss in MPG?

You can fit 30s fine with no life.

depending on the size of your stock tires.. it may very well sit a tiny bit higher from the added height of your new tires...

and i wouldnt think your MPG would change very much at all, if any..

I have the BFG A/T. They're alright, but not my favorite. More than likely I won't get them again. They look good, and perform well, but have a rougher ride than I think they should have. Personally I like the Mastercraft Courser A/T. They are quiet, handle well and do pretty well in everything I've taken them through so they get my recomendation.

dont buy pro comps, they wear fast, and dont do as well in mud.

Has anyone used these tires in the snow, if so do you think they would be good enough for the winter instead of buying an all out winter tire

I've been rocking the BFG A/T's on mine for 22k and have had no problems. Last year we had a good amount of snow, and again, no issues.

the stocks are 27.3" tall so yes you gained about an inch of lift. and since the 30's put the rear end at like a 3.40 i think you will notice the 2.3 tryin to pull the 2 tons of truck and using more gas
