for the Ranger. someone is claiming that 1998-present is a 4th gen, thats wrong.

good luck, we tried a while ago and every time it was changed back to the original. they would also delete RF from the 'related sites' part

 

Interesting, why would they do that? I would contact the wiki people and ask why they are putting up wrong info?

 

Don't you need to be an "editor" to add things or change things on there? I heard you just needed to give your email address and then you'd be an "editor". LOL

I know it was free game when Wiki first came out, but people were abusing it.

 

Most consider 98+ 4th gen's....The only thing that really changed is the front ends and the 4.0 OHV to 4.0 SOHC. Other than that, they are BASICALLY the same trucks...

 

It says the changes in there:

In 2001, the Ranger received a facelift, including a new grille, hood, and front bumper, as well as updated headlights and taillights. In 2004 the Ranger received minor updates to the grille, hood, and front bumper. New front bucket seats were also added in 2004 to meet the new U.S. Federal safety requirements. In 2006 the Ranger received more minor updates to the grille, front turn signals and taillights, along with a bigger rear Ford logo that was now centered in the middle of the tailgate.

I agree that it is the same truck since 98.

 

also the third gen had that hideous interior for 2/5 years. and the newer setup for 3. i say we put the good interior pics on it

i dont think the 98-00 should be a different gen from 01+ they have the "old" motors and new body/suspension just because ford put on updated grills and lights they didnt even dump the lima till 01.5
