so i went wheeling yesterday, and when I work up this morning i noticed that my passenger tire is crooked. When i drove it home yesterday it seemed to drive fine. Anyone know what it could be.

also my heater isnt working and i am hoping im just out of radidor fluid. if that isnt it does anyone know what else can cause it to just stop working after wheeling

it is a 1999 ranger xlt 4x4 4.0 if that helps

 

Knock something out of alignment, ball joint gone bad, tie rod gone out????? Hard to tell with what you told us.

 

is there a way i can tell if its a ball joint or a tie rod?

 

if your radiator is out of fluid you probabley would of noticed more than your heat not working.

 

To check if it's a bad ball joint, jack up the front of the truck and pull on the top of the tire in and out. Do the same with the bottom, then depending on how much movement there is depends on how bad you need to ball joints. I'm not sure if it would be the same type of thing for tie rods or not though.

 

that checking doesnt really work on SLA t-bar set up thats better for TTB or I-beam.

SLA upper ball joint you need to lift and push down on the upper control arm. you can put a long pry bar into the frame and pick up on it or push down if there is movement from the arm to knuckle then there is a problem.

lower is also up and down movement.


you can check if the wheel bearing is running out put the truck on 4 jack stands on level ground and put in 4 low and drive and see if its running out

 

Sounds like you bent a tie rod or steering linkage.

 

so i jacked up my truck and took off my tire and the whole hub assembly moves.

ya it is my wheel bearing wont get it from auto zone til about wensday. ford wanted $415 for one but auto zone has one for 125:D

are there any special tools i will need to replace my wheel bearings?
