bonus lights

hey yall just found out im getting my christmas bonus tomorrow and i wanna get something for my truck just a cheap mod so im not bored saving it all ive been eyeing the sylvania silverstar 4900k i believe hd headlight bulbs they got at wally world there like $40 for the pair anyone bought them? if so how do they look/perform my trucks an 03 but any year would be helpful

A lot of people are happy with their Silverstars. Although and HID upgrade is not much more

silver stares are about 50 hids are around 100 and you should never have to replace he bulbs again

DDM 35W or 55W Slim Ballast HID Kit

This is what I'm getting, I'm sure the other one will work fine

sorry for all the questions but whats the difference between the slim ballast kit and the regular one and how hard is the install im no electrician

ive been reading up on the hid conversion and it looks like it can be too much for your stock wiring and fry stuff i think im just gonna do bulbs cuz i gotta save some $$ for police acadamy ill let yall know how the bulbs work when i get them on

I haven't heard of people frying their wiring harnesses.

I'm not sure if an upgrade is necessary

EDIT: Another thread on here seems to suggest getting the relay harness, as as precaution.

i just installed the DDM HID kit yesterday, its just plug in. my fogs were no problem, but im having troubles with the heads, so if you order, get the relay harness too, i just ordered mine, hopefully it'll solve my problem.

you should be able to wire any relay in, you may have to use 2, you would use the signal lead on the relay, to your headlight wire, (probably one for each side) your source power, i would use a good size lead, 6g or larger, to your battery positive, fused, and the output of the relay to your + wire on the ballast... the other lead (if it is a 4 prong relay) goes to ground

dam im really split over this i just got hela xenons supposedly brighter than sylvania sylverstar ultras but idk well see tonight lol i guess i can return them if there crap
