A little update: New truck!
I haven't been active on here for a good while, some may remember me though but thought I'd share my purchase over the weekend. I picked up an '08 F-250 with the 6.8L V10. Love it so far! It took me awhile to find this truck with the V10 with the color combo and wheels, but glad I waited. The ranger still runs like a champ at 220k but it was time to move on. Here are a couple pics of the new truck:
Thanks!

Thanks guys! I am looking to sell the Ranger. I will probably end up selling it through a local auction house. Wish I could keep it but it needs repairs and I would rather put that money towards a mortgage. Yeah I would say the only negative for the V10 is the mpg but honestly it is the same as what the Ranger was getting so I'm used to it. With this truck though I'll easily be able to roll my quad into the bed and have more peace of mind with long distance trips.

It's amazing what a DPF delete, exhaust, intake and a tune (that'll delete all DPF operations) does for a 6.4 at only about $1300 investment.....add to it a new turbo elbow and the EGR delete....really liven things up for a 6.4. And GREATLY improves economy. I saw 22 real mpg on a 400mi road trip in a borrowed '08 6.4 F350 of my friends. He saw at best 15 before the mods.

^HAHAHAHA. True true. Damn greenies and their environmental requirements...far too strict for any good. It's why diesel cars aren't popular here. It's what killed the diesel Liberty.....yet it is/was still built here and shipped off to Europe because they see it as a clean, economical, diesel rig. In an attempt to not turn this into a political rant against the dipshizts at the EPA or House or Senate or the Executive, I'm gonna stop now. lol.

Any reason for the choice in the V10 vs the 6.4 PSD? If you plan on keeping that truck for any length of time I'd suggest swapping the exhaust studs out for the stainless upgrades. We replace the factory studs with Ford's updated kits on all our V10's. I still don't know why they can't build the engine with them already installed.

Just bought a F-450 V10 4x2 chassis cab (dump truck) for work this month. They still offer the V10. Its the only engine option for the ambulance package E-Series, hence everyone is switching to the F-Series platform with the 6.7 Diesel now.
