ANOTHER Early X-Mas Gift

Last week was the Smoked LED 3rd Brake light. This week is the Black Headlights and Corners.

100_0217-1.jpg?t=1229975033

100_0218.jpg?t=1229975053

I couldn't resist any longer. I just HAD to have them.

Last thing coming is the front grille and surround. Last winter I got hit with a wave of slush/salt from an oncoming 18 wheeler and it broke a few honeycombs out and snapped the section under the left headlight, not to mention add a few chips to the windshield.

I'm going to have it painted but I won't install it until spring. No need to scratch it all up in the winter.

eBay.

You can do it yourself, but I don't have the time to do the mod without going headlight-less for a day or so. They really weren't that much money and at least it's done correctly. I also didn't want to screw up my stockers. I'll keep them as spares.

eBay Seller: lokakech

Link to his store: http://stores.ebay.ca/lokakech-Store...meZL2222QQtZkm

His were the cheapest as well as the cheapest for shipping to Canada. Awesome quality and resembles the OE stockers.

I measured where the original adjuster screws were and got the ones on the new black housings in the same spot. You "could" swap the adjuster screws, but the ones on my originals were corroded and couldn't be adjusted anyway.

I'll have to try them out tonight, but they were pretty close and bang on to matching where the originals were as far as the adjusters go.

See, that was really the main reason I got new headlights. My corner lights were nice and clear, but the 8 year old headlights were turning cloudy and pretty scratched up. I was going to get the same OE ones, but for roughly the same price I figured to go with the black housing ones.

Not too bad. There are 3 adjuster screws on each headlight. The 2 on the bottom left and right of the headlights could be interchanged (swapped out) but the originals were all corroded. I just measured where the originals were on the bolts and then adjusted the new ones to match.

The top adjuster screw (on the headlights I just bought) was totally different in terms of how it was attached to the headlight. My OE was attached by a black round twist off piece where as the new headlight had a white square snap in piece. The adjuster unit on it was the same though, just couldn't swap them out. I adjusted them to the same point but after a road test last night, they are a tad too high. I did notice that the upper adjuster screw is mounted a bit farther out on the back of the housing. I'm going to measure from the top of the headlight lens back to where the metal bar locks the headlight down. I know that the top of the headlight will need to aim down a bit.

All in all, it's a plug and play application.......just need to align them correctly.
