So 4 years ago I sold my 98 and haven't been active on the forum since. A couple months back I came across a 1989 regular cab short bed, 2.3, 5 speed, truck on Craigslist that wasn't running with about 90k miles. I trailered it home and found the timing belt had slipped,I got it running and have been tinkering on it ever since. Anyway I figured I'd check in here, share some pictures, and progress as I work on the truck.


The day after I brought the truck home


Removed the janky 90s aftermarket cruise control and the bug shield


The interior sold me on the truck and with the exception of the headliner, and cut passenger seat belt it is ridiculously clean for a 89


Removed the vent shades, tinted the windows, and added a tool box


Found a cheap parts truck. I mostly wanted the front bumper and tailgate and a few other odds and ends


Just installed a set of staggered 17x9 and 17x10.5 rims with 275/45 and 315/40 tires along with the oe bumper from the parts truck

 

nice looking wheels! and, where you live, i'm betting you have a blast with that boat of yours! i have been to morehead city a couple of times think the area is very nice.
