2004 Ford Ranger Edge all cleaned up and some new mods.

The weather has been too nice not to work on the truck. Breakdown of what I have been up to in the past couple weeks....

James Duff Traction Bars installed
Sway Bar primered, painted, and installed
Clay Bar and wax prep for winter
Front and rear dif. fluid changes
Transfer Case fluid change
Craftsman tool box installed
New Mud Flaps installed (they save the paint)
Cleaned the engine bay up
Changed the belt tensioner, idler pulley, and belt (You can read about that here)
Door handles painted to match

Decided to paint the rusty transfer case dampener

Super Duty Cargo Lamps and they work! :)

Hmmm only for full-size trucks huh...

Things to come soon...06+ tail lamps and Ranger emblems

Ford wasn't thinking right when they stopped putting it on the Ranger after 01. I took the sway bar off my 01 before I sold it, Granted the 04 does ride and handle much better right off the bat, it is the sway bar that is the magic that dramatically helps the rear end stay planted in the corners. The JD traction bars keep the tires in contact on uneven terrain too. It's night and day.

I always look for your truck but never see it. Although other Ranger owners do eyeball my truck.

That's my style.

You can check out my other rig on here: 2002 Ford Focus SVT - I've still got it - The Ford Focus Forum | Powered by Focaljet

It's for a 4.6 Ford Racing Mustang engine but I was hoping to get it to work on my SVT Focus but it didn't fit right so the Ranger got it.

Any details on that bed box? Could you get me a measurement on height? How does it mount?

Looks great!

Didn't know the transfer case has it's own fluid interval. I can see front and rear diff fluids.

Oh ya it does. If you look around the boards people recommend 24k to 50k intervals.

I picked it up off of Sears.com. Here is a direct link: Craftsman Sidebed III Truck Box, Black Steel 6 ft.

I didn't pay that much for it because I used coupons, free shipping, and it started out at $149.99. I orginally looked on amazon and these toolboxes are just rebadged MGF manufactured ones. However, Sears sells them much cheaper which really should be the other way around. If you order them from MGF they are around $210 plus shipping. When you get the box it will have MGF at the top of the instructions but have a Craftsman badge that comes off. The MGF badge is engraved. It has a divider in the bottom and a small take out tray at the top.

More info: This is not a direct fit for the Ranger because the way the bed slopes up. However with a little grinding on the supplied plate it will work with ease. If you don't have the big side bed caps it will stick up a few inches above the rail. I'm thinking about getting my bed line-x'd.
