Got the grille painted.

Finally got around to painting my billet grille black. I used a satin black Krylon spray bomb, and it turned out pretty well! It really shows what's in behind the grille now though... but I still like it better than the bare aluminum.

And here's a before shot for comparison!

Thanks! I'm thinking of taking the bug deflector off now... but it's hiding too many stone chips!

No leave the bug deflector on... You can barely notice it anyways. That grill looks a million times better now! Maybe paint everything behind it black? Might help hide it

Thanks guys. Everything behind it is actually already black. It just seems like it's more noticeable once the bars are painted!

Sorry to bring up an old thread, but did you sand the grille at all before painting?

All I did was scuff it with a scotchbrite pad. It held up for a year or so before I had to touch it up a bit! It wasn't bad... just a few stone chips.

Yep that's my brother-in-laws XJ. That was back when it had a 3" lift, coil spacers and 31's. It now has a 6.5" BDS long arm kit.
