Did my brakes, PICSS!!!!

Today was a nice day so i drove to a buddy's house and we tackled the job... 30 mins later we have success. I also bled my brakes, WAYYY TOO much air in the lines. Brakes feel sooooo much better.

Enjoy:

Old pads, On the SL knuckle i put the caliper in the 03+ mounting holes, I had half my pad touching the rotor, no wonder why my braking power sucked.

Dust sheild has to go, It wont fit anyway with the bigger rotors i installed:

Nice!! Which rotors are those?

MudSlanger 12-26-2008 07:24 PM

Got them from mod bargins.. Cost 270 bucks with posiquiet pads, powerslot slotted rotors and 3 bottles of motul brake fluid(way more than i needed)!!! Good deal.

Nice, are the new pads any bigger?

Goodysgotacuda 12-26-2008 07:34 PM

Funny you should mention this because the 00 pads i bought and the 03 pads that came with my rotor kit were the same size pads... Looks like ford forgot to increase the size of the pads/calipers when they opted for bigger rotors lol

yea, it seems useless looking at those pics to have the bigger rotor since most of the surface new surface area isn't getting used :shrugs:

Partially true.
But being further out from the center gives them more leverage and the pads cover a larger distance on the rotor per revolution. So not a total waste, but not as effective as it could be.

Thanks for the comments. The brakes are incredible. Love em. And yes i do feel a difference in stopping power because of the bigger rotor!! Next mod, Body lift and black rims :)
