Dipped my wheels for winter

Plasti-dipped my wheels today....took about 2.5 cans. Just cleaned them with car wash soap and a rag. 6 light coats. Turned out pretty well. We'll see how long it lasts. Hoping through winter, then i'll just peel it off and go back to polished.

No masking done to the tires. Peeled right off nice and clean. Took them off the truck completely instead of masking rotors/calipers.

how did you do it without getting any over spray on the tires? ive thought of doing this for winter but i figured i wouldnt get it perfect without taking the tires off the rim.

nvm i just reread your post, guess it peels off the tires.

looks good!
might be a pain in the *** to peel it off if you did light coats but since you did 6, you may be ok. Heavy coats will make it easier to peel in the spring. It should hold up fine. I went wheeling with plastidipped wheels about 4 times last winter and not even a chip on them

Definitely liking the black better at this point. I go through phases. Good thing about plastidip.

Need to find a good priced roof basket now. And i'll be doing new shocks in the next few weeks. Undecided on what kind. Suggestions?

That's cool! My rusty winter tire rims are nothing special, would be cool to do the same and cover it up. Sounds like a fun project. I've never tried plasti dip before but it sounds interesting.
