If I remember correctly they changed the camshaft and valve timing points, higher compression, pcm was more aggressively tuned, larger throttle body, upper intake manifold was extrude honed, lower Intake manifold was enlarged, SVT clutch, a water to oil oil cooler, a radiator with a thicker core for better cooling, air filter and intake, lighter flywheel, and quasi-dual exhuast, rev limited was increased as well. Not to mention all the exterior and interior changes. These were actually pretty sweet cars, and the 3rd installation into the SVT family, following the lightning and the Cobra, then the focus following shortly later on. SVT was off the map for a little while and then the GT500 came out, then the raptor.

BTW found out something cool. I actually have a really rare version of the SVT contour. Only 386 were equipped like mine in 2000!!
