Finally put it in

Had some more time today after the gf left and it was WAY nice outside so I modded the new interior pieces I got from the junk yard to hold my gauge.

Tell me what you guys think. (The fuse panel door isn't the light gray color, it's just the sun)

Now I might catch some flack for this and if it doesn't get hot then I don't really care. I took apart the air bag control box and took just the chipset out of it and wrapped it in electrical tape. With the gauge there, the box and the gauge just wouldn't work for space so to save space I took the box out of the equation and just wrapped the chip in electrical tape. It gets shoved up in the dash so I could care less how that looks, just making sure it doesn't get hot that's all.

Anyways here's what I mean:

Looks good to me.

What is that hole above the key insert? Is that were the shifter used to be?

No that's the release for the key when it's in the ignition for stock manual trucks. Since I had the option not to have that having done the swap I said hell with it. Usually that's the piece you push forward while turning the key back at the same time to release the key from the ignition. I didn't want it.

I dunno what I'm gonna do to fill that spot either. Any one have any ideas?

How deep does that hole go? And how thin/tall is your cell phone? Would be an awesome console for it.

I would put it there but I usually just put it in the slot on the shorty console or up on the visor.

It only goes like maybe 1.5in before it hits the column...

Looks good Trev, nice idea on mounting it there. I'm trying to think of something you could do about that hole but have no idea?

I have my entire air bag assembly crammed inside my dash. My CB covers it up well.

What does the new guage meassure or monitor?

Well it's not new. I used to have it in my FL expo console in the front cubby. Did the tranny swap and put in the regular floor bezel with the shorty and lost my air gauge cuz I couldn't find a spot for it.

Went to the JY and grabbed an extra one of those covers for the air bag switch for security if I didn't like it lol.... And put the gauge in there... It monitors my tanks pressures (2 tanks) in the toolbox.

2 tanks, 2 compressors in the toolbox! ViAir ftw!

Really? I have a 145 cut off for the air so it automatically kills the power to the compressors at 145. Most of the time it's at 140 though because the hot air caused by the compressors tricks the sensor into thinking it's at 145 when it shuts off when it's really about 140.

I don't think my horns would sound good above 150. Although I've never done it. Drive to OR so I can test it on your system lol

It would for sure make the OEM swap complete... However...

Justin just informed me to grab a column cover from a OEM floor shifted auto mustang. They don't have the key release being auto in that body and the shifter isn't on the column, it's on the floor between the seats!

That Justin guy is a real Einstien.
