It looks like Raleigh got a little more than we did here in Charlotte.

I was out driving around earlier for the fun of it since classes are canceled for the day. The trusty Ranger did just fine, despite 2WD and no weight in the back. A lot of people were abandoning their cars though. I saw a few cars just dumped on the side of the road. One girl in a Protege just got out of her car in the middle of an intersection and walked off.

Unfortunately, the novelty is wearing off quick thanks to the DOT. My truck is coated from top to bottom in salt and sand now. Most of the roads around here are a brown mess.

We haven't got manby storms this year, but when we do, we get pounded. We've had two goo storms this year, both laying down over 24" in a day. First storm was up to my doors and I'm on 33's, so that was a lot...at least you guys say that yr DOT takes care of it, ours takes their sweet little time, haha.

We still have some on the grass and stuff here. The roads are just a slushy, salty, sandy mess right now. My truck is going to need a serious cleaning once the salt and sand is off the roads. It's mostly white and gray right now.

we got roughly 5-6 inches here at school, went and found a few empty church parking lots and tried out the traction control... but the ranger did a lot better than I expected, stopped better than some of the guys around here with big double lifted chevys and dodges. Its still snowing here but its not sticking anymore. Classes are said to be canceled till 10am tomorrow this snow looks like its going to stay around for a while.

its funny how differently areas react to snow. your classes were canceled, and yet, you can still see the grass blades, lol. granted, the north gets more snow so we're used to it... but damn... i'm not even sure that would get us a 2 hour delay, lol, and our area isn't even considered a tough spot for snow. then again... plow guys up here are so antsy to get on the roads, they're usually throwing **** down left and right hours before the first flakes even fall... that amount you have there would have been taken care of and cleared completely before it was even finished snowing, lol.
