Finished. Body lift on 265/75/16 's

Took a total of 24 hours, did it by myself, started friday around 6pm, finished sunday around 2pm. Only time I wasn't working on it was when I was sleeping, or running out to the hardware store to get parts. I cant decide whether or not to put my steps back on, what do you think?

looks good... at least now I know it can be done with one person

edit: question, did you or do you have to remove the hitch to take the bumper off?

No the hitch stayed on. And to install the bump I put on the brackets first, than banged em with a sludge hammer to bend them IN a little bit.

I can feel something wierd going on with the gas pedal though, strong vibration and feels a bit tighter. Is this normal?

Nice! That valance looks terrible though

I didn't get a strong vibration with mine, see if maybe the throttle cable is hung up on something.

Nothing weird with gas pedal for me either. Only different feeling I had was the expected steering stiffness.

Depends on the type of hitch you have. Some mount on the bottom of the frame and some mount on the sides.

Wow, I have the almost identical truck except mine's an 02. I also cut my valance. Tow hooks were more important than looks for me.
I had vibration when accelerating or at least somethign going on and come to find out (too late) that the jack-bag who did the lift for me didn't move my AC hose and it was hitting my pulley thereby cutting a hole in the hose. Have yet to get that fixed.

I bet you are kickin' yourself for your tire size choice now huh? lol.

Yes...steering will feel a little tighter...which....i like. I like 'em tight.

PLEASE...paint that front crossmember and the lift brackets. Another perfectly good edge valence has bit the dust. :(

Don''t worry man, I will, I was thinking about cutting right after the muffler but my buddy told me it causes problems because the engine needs back pressure and that takes away, plus then it gets too loud in the cab. Is that true?

And about painting the cross member....what is that? lol sorry.
