half the rear cab, not sure how high. jump seat removed. wanted to regain one of my jump seats, so rather than just move my box and single 300w 10" to the side, i'm ditching the whole setup for a much better system that will stay out of the way better too. I wish it were already tomorrow.... i'm not doing the box building, my audio place is. they do good work, so don't worry!

I know this is kinda an old thread but I have a question. Why did you put that sub in a sealed box? It would get much louder in a ported box.

Sealed boxes offer more punch. ported offer more crisp and clear.
its all about how the sound bounces around.

Ported boxes put out higher decible levels and lower lows. Not necessarily clearer or cleaner bass. Most would agree that a sealed box offers tighter more focused bass notes.

You might be partially correct, a sealed box has more punch, but it is the better box for sq. Ported will be louder but more boomy, when built to proper specs of course.

ported takes up a lot more space. I listen to mostly rock, loud inaccurate bass isn't my goal.
ported is also a lot more complicated, and since it wouldn't benefit me at all I went witht he more compact, better SQ, sealed box.

EDIT: smcasey barely beat me, in fewer words. same idea though. haha.
